UP...UP...and AWAY!

Today was a real "breakfast burner"!  We turned our back on the peaks of yesterday and walked up the sister mountain, no cable car ride in our future!!!  It took only minutes until we were all huffing and puffing as we trekked up and up to the mountain pass enroute to Posada Valdeon, our destination for the day.

Our last look at Fuente De.

The first flat spot on or climb.

Stopping for a quick mountain pose (needed the rest).

Just arriving above the cloud line.

And still climbing!

We're seeing snow below us now!

Yes . . . up there, and I don't want to hear any more whining!!!!

During our walks over the last few days we have seen hundreds of horses with foal.  This must be the time of year for them and the ideal spot for them to graze.

A large snowbank in the middle of our path.

And finally, at the mountain pass to start our long descent into Posada Valdeon.  The winds here blew the sweat right off our backs.

Brief moon site.

We encountered a number of buildings on stilts in the town of Prada which are actually old Grain storage spots, elevated to hold the harvest and protect it against mold and critters.

Typical village church in Posada Valdeon

Our hotel for the evening

Well you know what this story is all about!
